Scope of Refurbishment
Cab/Crew Area
- Windshields and Cab Glass- Remove, inspect and reinstall all windows and replace trim and molding with new
- Windshield Washer – Install new hoses and parts
- Interior Tread Plate – Polish all tread plate on cab interior
- Cab Door Seals – Replace door seals with new
- Cab door hinges Cab door hinges shall be replaced with new.
- Door panels – Clean and touch up door panels and upholstery
- Miscellaneous – Cab latches, a/c louvers, handles etc – Replace as necessary
- Window control handles- Replace interior window regulators with new, new window felts
- Reupholster Cab Interior – Reupholster doghouse, dash, visors, instrument console using same as Seagraves Material. Map box shall be removed and returned to AVFD.
- New Flooring – Replace floor matting material (Dyna Mat) and trim with new
- Driver’s Seat – Replace with new H.O. Bostrom Sierra high back air ride w/ new red seatbelt, gray durawear
- Officer’s Seat – Remove and change to H.O. Bostrom Sierra Air Ride high back seat. (currently and SCBA seat without air ride). Base shall be modified to accommodate air seat, gray durawear
- Crew seating (rear facing)- Replace with new (2) H.O. Bostrom Tanker 450 seats w/ Red seatbelts, gray durawear
- Cab hinge bushings – Replace with new
- Insulation – Customer recently replaced insulation but they want additional insulation to keep noise down
- Air Intake filter – Do not Install new air filter, air intake boots shall be replaced with new (cracking)
- Warning stickers and placards – Replace worn warning stickers and take placards out and fill in holes
- Gauges – Replace complete cluster of gauges (VDO if possible)
- Front Bumper Inspect, polish and repair as necessary – replace diamond plate cover, all unit # placard holders shall be removed (front bumper, sides of cab and rear of apparatus)
- Grab Rails – On body Replace with new knurled extrusion with chrome stanchions
- Mirrors Replace mirrors with new heated remote control mounted on door
- CSI Comm System – The sigtronix system shall be removed. A new Central Supply International Communications system per the spec provided shall be installed.
- EPCR Wifi Install customer supplied antenna is PS footplate
Chassis
- Engine – Detroit Series 60 – The engine shall have the rack ran, new starter, injectors, air compressor, sensors, sending units & water pump, injector harness
- Hoses and Belts Replace hoses and belts for the engine
- Muffler – Replace muffler with new
- Fuel System – New fill hose, supply hoses, gas cap, clean fuel tank interior, inspect and repair any corrosion, inspect fuel tank straps for wear
- Starter – Replace with new – included in engine price
- Transmission – Service with new fluid, new ring gear, new pan gasket and re-seal – includes Dyno test
- Drive Train – Replace U Joints and carrier bearings, rebalance drive lines
- Front axle – Inspect, new seals, clean and lube bearings
- Rear End, Axle Seals and Bearings – Remove axles and 3rd member, inspect and reset tolerances, new pinion seal, new wheel seals, clean, inspect and lube bearings, install remote vent
- Drag link end – Replace drag link end with new
- Tie rod ends – Replace tie rod ends with new
- Springs – Install new front springs only, pins, bushings, and service hanger and all U bolts
- Shocks – Replace front shocks with new
- Tires- Do not Replace tires , rims, spacers
- Tire Pressure indicators – New “cat eye” tire pressure indicators shall be installed
- Mud Flaps – No Action
- Air Conditioning – Inspect, evacuate, recharge, replace lines as needed, new compressor, replace heater hoses – made into one
- Heater Core Flush & Service and replace heater valve
- Oil Cooler New Oil Cooler – included with engine
- Battery Box Inspect and Repair and refinish battery boxes
- Battery Charger – Replace with new Newmar EV40 battery charger shall be installed
- New Batteries Install (6) new group 31 batteries
- Kussmaul Auto Eject for Shoreline – Replace with new Kussmaul shoreline auto eject
- Brake System – Front and Rear Disc Brakes – Ex225 Meritor – (BUDGET ONLY, NEED TO HAVE TRUCK IN POSSESION TO EVALUATE, COULD BE LESS)
- Air dryer – Reman air dryer
- Air system – Troubleshoot air system, replace air governor- go to compression
- Remote Air Tank Drain – No Action
- Air Horn No action on air horns
- Radiator & Charge Air Cooler- re core radiator, new coolant, clean and pressure test charge air cooler with new charge air boots
Fire Systems
- Pump rebuild and test – The pump shall be re-packed, new seals, change oil, gearbox shall be inspected.
- Add Direct Fill – Add (1) one 2 1/2″ Ball Valve Direct Tank Fill at lower right engine panel with up-down lever. An additional direct tank fill shall be installed on the left side of the engine. Remove aux intake.
- Discharge/intake valves – Rebuild all discharge/intake valves with new stainless steel ball valves, adjust linkages, add 1 new 4″ discharge to OS Panel (3″ plumbing with 4″ NST adaptor), crank style
- Drain valves – replace all handles to 1/4″ turn at all low point drains
- Rebuild primer – Rebuild primer, new solenoid
- Pressure gauges – replace pump panel pressure gauges, Dry gauges
- Pump panel engine & fuel gauges – Replace all levers and gauges to reflect new style from Seagraves (color coded) purchase from IC
- Data Center Add data instrument Cluster for Engineer (class 1) Info III meter (we will explore possibility of using ENFO IV)
- Pump intake screens – Replace with new
- Water Level Gauge – Replace with new Class 1 Intellitank LED water level gauge
- Discharge Caps and Chains and elbows- All 2 1/2″ intake and discharge caps and leave chains – new and elbows
- Water/Foam Tanks – Inspect for leaks then call UPF for repairs
- Foam System Inspect and test foam system
- Tank to Pump Change the handle mechanism so that open is in and closed is out.
- Rewind Button DS foot operated rewind bottom shall be relocated to the pump panel.
Body
- Hard Hose Compartment – Add hard suction compartment – 10′ length, 4″ diameter – move inboard to OS hosebed, push & turn latch, horizontal hinge on bottom of diamondplate door.
- Door shocks or springs – Inspect each spring and shock, repair or replace as necessary including ball mounts
- D-Ring Compartment latches – Inspect, adjust and lubricate, AVFD to provide new lockable D ring handles, doors shall be modified to accommodate lock prior to paint.
- Aluminum Tread Plate – Chemically treat and polish all exterior tread plate
- Rub Rails – Do not install new rub rail channel
- Wheels – Change wheels to stud piloted. (6)
- Compartment weather striping – Replace weather striping on all doors
- Compartment Door Hinges Inspect and adjust all compartment door hinges, rear tailboard compartment door hinges shall be replaced.
- Adjustable Shelves – Do not re-install DS and rear shelving, PS side shelves shall be repaired as necessary.
- SCBA Bottle Storage – Add hidden pockets for each Air bottle storage area (UPF)
- Engineers Compartment Reverse swing of engineers compartment door to open to the rear of the apparatus.
- Pump Panel The pump panels shall be disassembled replaced with new smooth stainless steel panels modified to accommodate new drains, water level gauge, direct fill, etc.
- Ladder Rack Lock Install Customer supplied ladder rack manual lock
Electrical
- Main Wiring Harness – Inspect, troubleshoot electrical problems, clean up loose wires
- Map Light – New Federal Litlite LED
- Headlights Install new Hella High Watt headlights, high beam/low beam. Move headlight bezel to upper panel, replace lower panel.
- Cab interior Lights Replace with LED Red, Clear
- FMVSS Clearance Lighting – Replace existing clearance lighting with new LEDs
- FMVSS Lighting replace existing brake turn and tail lights with new Whelen 600 Series LED’s with new 4pak bezel
- Step Light, Cab and body – Replace (10) cab and body step lights with new LED’s
- Body Compartment Lights Install (2) LED strip lights in all compartments, old incandescent compartment lights to be removed.
- Dual Pole Lights Existing pole light shall be removed. Two new 12 Volt LED FRC Evolution pole lights shall be installed, one each side to the back of the cab. 15,000 lumens model.
- Ground/Engine Compt Lights – Replace with (10) new 4″ Round LED’s
- Emergency Lights, Front Zone Lower – Install 2 Whelen 600 Series red emergency lights in separate chrome bezel
- Light bar – Install new 72″ LED Whelen Freedom light bar w/ alley lights. All red, front and sides
- Emitter A new GTT infrared emitter shall be installed in the lightbar. Programing codes to be provided by AVFD.
- Side Zone Lower lighting – Six (6) new Whelen LED 600/700 series red emergency flashers shall be installed on the sides of the apparatus. New chrome bezels shall be supplied.
- Rear zone lower lighting Two (2) new Whelen LED 600 series red emergency flashers shall be installed on the rear of the apparatus in the common 4 pak bezel
- Warning Lights (rear of hose bed) – Install 2 Whelen L31HFRN Beacons, Red and Amber Amber on DS
- Rear Work Lights – Replace existing with new PFBP12C LED Flood lights (2)
- DOT reflectors – Install new DOT red and amber reflectors
- Electric Siren A new Code 3 3692 Full Feature Siren with HiLo and Hard-Wired Microphone, Plus Air Horn electric siren shall be installed on the apparatus with one 100 watt speaker mounted in the center of the front bumper.
Paint & Graphics
- Body Work and Corrosion Inspect body for damage and rust including fender flares. Remove rust and seal with a rust inhibitor.
- Interior Paint – Refinish interior cab including seat bases, match existing paint
- Rhino Line – Rhino Line interior of Compartments, light gray, mounting holes shall be filled.
- Paint, Cab and Body Exterior – Prepare painting surface to include cleaning, minor body work, prime surfaces, paint single stage white, cut and buff, replace all door seals with new, all bolt on components will be removed prior to paint
- Chassis Frame Rail – Prep and paint accessible chassis frame rail gloss black
- Reflective Striping – New 6″ Red reflective stripe along front and sides
- Reflective Stripe, Cab Doors – 6″ white reflective stripe on interior cab doors
- Reflective Lettering/Graphics – Per current graphics layout
- Rear Chevrons – take diamond plate off, install smooth surface for chevrons conform to NFPA 1901 2009
- Special Lettering No action – customer will decal apparatus at their department
