This 2001 KME Panther Pumper was completely refurbished including a replacement of the engine. The Detroit Diesel Series 40 300 hp engine was not getting the job done in the hills of Sedona. Chief Terry Keller came to Firetrucks Unlimited looking for solutions. We were able to help him by installing a remanufactured Cummins ISL 400 hp engine. We also added a new Onan hydraulic generator and LED lighting. We rebuilt the pump and valves, added new scene lights and of course we repainted the pumper. In the middle of the project the torch was passed to the new Chief Kris Kazian and we were able to display the completed refurbishment in the Arizona Cardinals stadium in Glendale at the Desert Southwest Fire and Emergency Services Expo.
